Portland Monthly's Design Annual is a special issue. It highlights the quirky (and compelling) accomplishments of creative types throughout the city. Each issue features makers and artists from an array of disciplines, and the events team throws a bash in honor of the issue's release.
Mixing things up.
When this project landed in my lap, it was simply called Portland Monthly’s Design Annual. I felt this was a little stiff—and since I was also asked to write the copy for the ads, I decided the event deserved a name of its own. I christened it the “Maker Mixer.”
Though I amicably parted ways with the magazine over two years ago, Portland Monthly has continued to use the name and design aesthetic since.
